A lot of super talented bluegrass is just such they're so technically proficient. It just blows my mind. And there there's just so

And ⁓ so they are bringing a wicked sick awesome show that is going to be packed. So get your tickets now on mothership.love. Check it out, mothership.love. If you're looking for more than just a band on a stage, this is your chance to witness one of the most talked-about live acts on the road today. This'll be an inside show and it's twenty-five dollars Dave show, twenty dollar tickets. VIP is also 70, so ⁓ that'd be pretty sweet. Getting hang getting a hangout with them backstage. And I saw a little video that said that they're gonna be performing two songs exclusively to those VIP people. That is that's gonna be
speaker-1: Will this be an outside show? Inside? Okay. There go.
speaker-0: That that alone is is worth your money right there. So definitely check ⁓ out. ⁓ and then pick up your tickets quickly. And I believe we might be playing some chameleon air heart today. I just got permission to play their music, so we will be rocking that out today. And my my boy, Birdman, next to Jarrett, Ryan, I believe. I've seen him in here. They've been practicing. I think he's coming back. That's gonna be a wicked awesome show. Everybody knows how much I love the Birds Cage and I mean, you can't go wrong with this show right here. Friday, October 16th. What the hell else are you doing on a Friday? Come and check it out. And so that's gonna be a wicked awesome show. That's coming up very soon, folks. The ⁓ the month of October is absolutely packed with music. Come and get your tickets and come and see the show. It's gonna be wicked sick. Then after that, we have Saturday, October 24th. The Tape Cassettes, The Stroppers, and the Raccoon Wranglers. Yes, the Tape Cassettes recently put out an album. And it's been it features a lot of music they d they've been playing out. And we've heard a lot of their songs, but there is a lot more on that record than what you've heard them play out. I guarantee it. It's all all the weird psycho noises that they make. It it's the production is off the chain. It sounds so good and it's so rich. It just encapsulates so much of what the tape cassettes want. To bring to the table and they do check it out. Check out the tape cassettes. I believe it's a self-titled album. That ⁓ that came out, I think like six months ago, since six, eight months ago, something like that. And so they're probably gonna be bringing some new material to you as well. We'll see. And then we got the Strappers coming to the mothership. I've seen a couple of videos for them. Again, it's a duo, it's just like tape cassettes, different kind of sound. Same kind of ⁓ same kind of vibe, very cool people, very talented people. Come and check it out. The Raccoon Wranglers, I mean, you're not gonna wanna miss them, folks. I guarantee it. Come and see this show. Showtime's at 7 p.m. October 24th. That is a Saturday. And it's going to be an inside show. 10 advanced, 15 at the door. And what else is there to say? Coming rock out at the mothership. It's happening. It's what's going on. It's what there is to get tuned into. It's right here at the mothership, folks. All right. Now that that's done and over with, we got a little bit of merchandise. A little bit of merchandise. Yeah. I've always been annoyed by umbrellas. The way the water just washes off and gets your back all wet anyway. I I didn't know that about umbrellas. That's right. So I've added a gutter system around the outside edge and a spout leading down. Scott, he's bright! No, no, no, no. I've got that covered too. You just pointed out the back. Look at that. This is a this is a idea. Simple. Definitely simple. But good. Ooh. Can you make sure man? Hey, what do you call it?
speaker-1: To our This is a good idea. Me one Hey, had a go!
speaker-0: ⁓ how about the gutter bumper shoot. Hey! Gutter bumper shooter bumper shoot! Hey! Gutter bumper shoot! Gutter bumper shoot!
speaker-1: God
speaker-0: Counter Bumper shoot! Woohoo! All right, now we've got t-shirts, t-shirts, t-shirts, t-shirts. We've got gray ones, we've got black ones, we've got mugs, we got two different designs, one of which has ⁓ the mothership logo on the back and Mansfield under Mansfield, Ohio, underneath the spaceship. And that one also has the little mothership logo on the front, looks like on the left side of the chest. And we have one that has the mothership logo with just Mansfield, Ohio on the front. We also have leftover shirts from the Inked and Amped Show. So if you want one of those shirts, we still have them. And I believe they they should probably be like 20 $20, $25. ⁓ $26. Forgive me. And we still have mugs, people. The mugs. Are just a little bit bigger than your average coffee mug. And you know I like a little bit extra coffee when I'm trying to stay awake and trying to stay engaged with the show, you know. And ⁓ so and we also have stickers that say, Have you rocked the ship? For five dollars. And ⁓ every band comes in with merch, every single band that comes in here, they have merchandise. So pick up merch for their show. Pick the y you know you they're you're funding their show when you buy the merch. So if you like the band, buy the merch. It's that simple. And ⁓ all right, we're gonna go ahead and get started here. Rossanne, how do you feel how do you feel about all
speaker-1: Don't ask me whole qu hard questions. Okay. Yes. How do I feel about what? Alt rock. Alt rock. ⁓ I love alt rock. Like
speaker-0: Yeah, ⁓ and and so what are your what are your favorite alt rock bands?
speaker-1: ⁓ I would say ⁓ Soundgarden, Alice in Chains. ⁓ yeah. A little bit. You know, I did like Pearl Jam for a minute until I realized that Eddie Vedder ran his fucking mouth about Monkey Six, so that turned me off. not a fan of Eddie Vedder anymore. ⁓ Although their music is good. hmm. Those are the ones yeah, some of the old school. ⁓
speaker-0: Dip it into ground jump. ⁓ no. Like a REM and Radiohead and stuff like I think a lot of these bands that come into the mothership they're heavily inspired by that particular era in music. And I I loved I love to see it because it's such a it's a unique sound. It y with metal there seems to be a lot of conformity. Like everybody likes to have the the the brightest everything sounds like either mashuga nowadays
speaker-1: ⁓ l I love Radio Head. Yeah.
speaker-0: Or it sounds like God smack.
speaker-1: Okay, no. We can't have ⁓ people sounding like God snack. We just can't do that. Yeah, the
speaker-0: Around here, ⁓ there's a lot of ⁓ I call them God Smack tribute bands, where it seems like there are the the sound is heavily inspired by God Smack, which was in turn inspired by Allison Chains. And ⁓ and I you know, I listened to a lot of a lot of God Smack when I was a kid, you know, when I was a teenager, and I sang a lot of God Smack songs on the butt.
speaker-1: I did too. I was. I was a huge God Smack fan. But I just feel like they ⁓ you know, even with their new music, they they're still boxed into that that sound, the sound that they started with. Absolutely. They haven't really ⁓ you know, tried different sounds like a lot of bands do. Mm-hmm. You know, put put yourself out there and just and just try different things. Just try
speaker-0: Try something new. Like it and and don't do a cover of that Rocky Mountain Way. Just don't do it. Right. You're not gonna do it justice. ⁓
speaker-1: I know, I know. What the hell ⁓ my goodness. He steps in with no regret. Yeah. When nothing Not there. Yeah. Yeah. So Dance away and nothing. Yeah.
speaker-0: Yeah, that was Diminished Fifth with the nothing. And Rassan here says that they're working on their third album.
speaker-1: Yes, rumor has it. They're working on it. And I think they even put out a demo ⁓ just within the last week that you can go and listen to if you want.
speaker-0: Sweet. Yes. Check out the diminished fifth demo. Go hit them up. Much love to all them boys. I love Carl.
speaker-1: Yeah, definitely. And I think that they are working on some kind of a ⁓ graphic for one of their songs. ⁓ that they were asking for votes on last week.
speaker-0: Okay. Yeah, well hit that up Check ⁓ out on Instagram, check ⁓ out anywhere you possibly can, Spotify, all that jazz. And ⁓ come to the shows, you know.
speaker-1: Come to the shows, buy the merch. And that's like a point too that you made by the merch to support the bands. I mean, that's a big, big, huge way to support the bands. So a lot of people probably don't realize these days. But you know, they're pouring money into having this made. And they're pouring money into the person that is staffing their merch table. And if they don't have a person, it's the band themselves. Yep. Staffing the merch table afterwards, which a lot of them do like to do that for the connection. But just yeah, buying the merch is is huge. And if you can't do it, if you can't come to a show, buy it online. Look ⁓ up online. That's a way to support them.
speaker-0: Right on. Yes. ⁓ and a lot of a lot of bands nowadays have an online store that you can or you can contact ⁓ through your preferred messaging service, whatever it may be. Hit ⁓ up. Ask ⁓ if you can buy a t shirt. You know, that stuff goes to gas, tubes, mm-hmm, ⁓ more merch, and goes to food if they're on the road, goes to everything that involves getting the show together and making it happen. And that's just That's the best.
speaker-1: So I saw a meme that cracks me up and I was sharing it ⁓ a while ago but it said, The band is not coming to your city because they personally don't like you
speaker-0: ⁓ They're like, Yeah, this place sucks. The fact that the Toxhards specifically want to come to the Mansfield mothership, that says a lot, you know. And and the fact that w the feedback that we get from a lot of these bands is just so incredible. It's like it we do our best to treat ⁓ well. We give ⁓ a place to sleep. We pay we actually pay the bands and we
speaker-1: Yeah, yeah.
speaker-0: Take good care of ⁓ We show ⁓ a good time. And we give ⁓ someplace safe to sleep. It it counts for a lot.
speaker-1: Yeah, definitely. Gives them a home away from home. Yeah.
speaker-0: Absolutely. And that's how I feel about the mothership right now. Home away from home. Yeah, that was Undersubstance with Abolish. Yeah, that's my absolute favorite. I love that song.
speaker-1: Yeah, they're definitely a killer a killer band with just three guys.
speaker-0: Just three guys and they're all doing the vocals. I
speaker-1: Yeah. Absolutely. It was cool to see them when they were here. ⁓ when was that?
speaker-0: ⁓ shoot. That was ⁓ was that Well they were here ⁓ for the Inked and Amp't show. They played on that.
speaker-1: Yeah. Okay, so that would have been July and then maybe August?
speaker-0: I think yeah they did they did come back. They played with ⁓ Revis and Smile Empty Soul and shoot. I got their album. I should fucking know that one.
speaker-1: Yeah, yeah, same tragedy. Those guys were cool too. Yes.
speaker-0: The stage presence was unreal. And so personable. They were just so sweet. I I loved hanging out with them. And and just talking with them was really cool. And ⁓ the th the singer with his eyes, dude. Those are his real Those are his real eyes, yo. That's so sick. No, they're not. I'm just kidding. But ⁓ Yeah. Good times. We're gonna play some more music for ya. And ⁓
speaker-1: ⁓ Just fucking tear it up, Brett. Tear it up, yeah.
speaker-0: Hey ya ⁓
speaker-1: Sir
speaker-0: Vegetable soup just for a You know? ⁓
speaker-1: Sassistic floor
speaker-0: Boys then! Whipples in the round
speaker-1: Fuck your wi!
speaker-0: I heard tomorrow he's gonna take his own life. The opposition budget Traitor's curse. is measured by the length to perpetrators will go, to destroy a citizen who dares to oppose it.
speaker-1: Yeah. He's gonna have a solid second where we're staying all so to show you can't get away from ⁓
speaker-0: Mr.
speaker-1: Clifford, Mr. Clifford, Clifford, ⁓ yeah, Mr. Clifford, ⁓ yeah, Mr. Clifford, yeah.
speaker-0: Mr. Clifford. That was that was the Tox Hards with Mr. Clifford. That was the band itself. They're coming here on the thirteenth of this month. Gonna be a wicked sick show. You don't want to miss it, folks. I I've they always leave me speechless. I don't I don't have I don't I I've got no criticism.
speaker-1: So I was just looking on their Facebook page and saw where the dude is inside a fishbowl full of water singing. Yeah. And then they slowly drain it, but he's singing or talking the whole time. That's insane. And he doesn't look like he's in distress at all.
speaker-0: So colo. Yeah, it's like this is normal. This is normal for me. I can breathe underwater. You didn't know that, but now you do. All right. I think we're gonna play a little bit of the Stroppers here. And ⁓ we're gonna ⁓ Rassan has got to take off and so we will say goodbye to rasan ⁓ here in a couple of minutes. But good times folks. We're having good times. Check this out.
speaker-1: With my eyes Pick me up if you can put me into your hands if you're not paralyzed El long high hi okay Spanna heart out of reference and the beyond the line of right now
speaker-0: Just a spot.
speaker-1: Let's do it all day. Stress matter
speaker-0: I'm just a spider b I'm just a spider babe. I'm just a spider. Just a smile of
speaker-1: Yeah.
speaker-0: Yeah. So ⁓ Russian just told me that ⁓ Casey Blevins, ⁓ graphic artist f here from Mansfield is actually that was your nephew.
speaker-1: Yes, he's my nephew. Yeah. And he goes by C CGB for Casey George Blovins. Nice. So you can find him that way if you want to have some ⁓ actual human-made graphics for your band. He loves indie bands ⁓ in particular. ⁓ that's perfect. Yeah, but he's ⁓ definitely open for work, freelance, so check him out for sure.
speaker-0: Yes, absolutely. He goes by ⁓ Raul
speaker-1: Raoul Dude R A O U L. Yes. That's his ⁓ artist name. Yeah.
speaker-0: Sweet. So genuine, like human made graphics for your band. Hit up Casey Blevins, Raul Dude, on Instagram or Facebook or anything like that. And then you can actually get some good graphics for your band. And ⁓ probably flyers too. That's it. Probably does some businesses as well. Yes. Yeah, look ⁓ up. Absolutely look ⁓ up. All right. That was ⁓ that was the Stroppers there just a couple of minutes ago. Fantastic. It sounds like they got some kind of they might have a doom influence. Which is straight up my alley. I absolutely love that stuff. Cannot wait to have ⁓ here at the mothership. Gonna be playing with the tape cassettes. Fantastic band. Always slay it when they come here. Can't wait to have ⁓ back. All right. Now I think we're gonna play a little bit more of the ⁓
speaker-1: ⁓ remind us when are the ⁓
speaker-0: Hmm. Yeah, Stropp. The Stroppers are going to be here. That's coming up, coming up. ⁓ I'm scrolling. I'm scrolling. I'm scrolling. Scrolling? I'm I am doom scrolling, yes. ⁓ Saturday, October 24th, with the tape cassettes and the raccoon wranglers gonna be here. Saturday, October 24th. The Stroppers will be here.
speaker-1: The stoppers, where are they when are they coming again? Mm are you doing stays?
speaker-0: They will be here and they will be bringing an awesome show for you guys to check out. And so check them out.
speaker-1: Is there gonna be a Halloween show or anything like that?
speaker-0: think ⁓ sad boy day's gonna be coming in here and doing a ⁓ October thing with a bunch of rap artists. Okay. And I think it was ⁓ s ⁓ wait a minute. It was either day ⁓ Monstrosity on the beats, I think as well.
speaker-1: So that would be when is the last Friday or Saturday of the month? Like what date is that?
speaker-0: Check it out. That is gonna be the thirtieth and the thirty first.
speaker-1: Sweet. Yeah we're totally ending October with a weekend. Mm-hmm. Okay. Sick. And is that when we go into daylight savings time again? ⁓ shit. If we're gonna fall back. Are we really gonna fall back? Because I heard that Trump had it on where he wants to change it, but it's been like the last three fucking years. They keep talking about it, but then you know, November and March comes around, like, damn it, I gotta adjust my fucking clock.
speaker-0: Yeah, that's the first. Yeah. ⁓ be ready. Yeah, it's like we gotta go back. I swear to God I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna change the daylight saving sign. We're not gonna do it anymore. It's gonna be beautiful. Y'all gonna be awake during the daytime. It's gonna be great.
speaker-1: So ⁓ just let me know if I have an extra hour to sleep in.
speaker-0: I don't keep my word like everybody knows that I do. right. ⁓
speaker-1: ⁓ Sound just like him.
speaker-0: I spend a lot of time on the internet doing this. It's really stupid. I love it.
speaker-1: I love the memes where they say like that wasn't me out there drinking and getting drunk and then he ⁓ starts to look at you know somebody showing him something he looks at him and goes, That's AI.
speaker-0: That's it, y that's AI, that's fake news. Everybody knows it. You take a look at one pick li one you take a yep.
speaker-1: Yeah.
speaker-0: ⁓ my god. ⁓
speaker-1: What would we do without our memes? When I was still working, that's what got me through the day. Most of the time me and my girlfriends just sending each other memes about stupid shit. Who where did you
speaker-0: Where did you work before you started doing your your business? Let's talk about your business first.
speaker-1: So, I was working in healthcare management and I was a practice manager. So I did that at the time I started my podcast. Nice. In August of last year. And then ⁓ in May of this year, I decided to leave. It became a shit show. ⁓ they couldn't control, you know, physician behavior and it was just For me, I just knew there was more creative things I could be doing and focusing my time on instead of adult babysitting and working with all the r fucking red tape. So yeah, I left my job in May and started my business, my content business, ⁓ Rasan Lorray Content Co. And I I mean, I already have lots of content with the podcasts that I do and everything. So it's just repurposing that.
speaker-0: Yeah, red tape. ⁓ god.
speaker-1: And ⁓ that is something a service that I offer to the guests that I interview. They can use that content. They can have like weeks worth of content that they can use for however they want just out of one interview with me.
speaker-0: Huge interviews.
speaker-1: Usually an hour, yeah, an hour or less. And then, you know, on the other hand, if they want help with their content, coming up with it or even, you know, just being able to post more often, ⁓ that is something I can help with also.
speaker-0: Love it. Yes. And and v like I was saying earlier, guys like me, I am just I'm I'm allergic to social media, it seems. And ⁓
speaker-1: It's ridiculous. I mean, you know, these musicians, they're out there, you know, you're busy recording, they're still working a full time job as well. Mm-hmm. And then, you know, to record but be expected to, you know, do the lighting, the producing, mixing. Yep. ⁓ if they don't have the funds yet to pay somebody to do that. and then on top of keeping their socials active. It's tough.
speaker-0: Yeah.
speaker-1: Thank you. Thanks. I mean it's kinda like a there's a there's a blessing and the curse because you know, we can do so many things now these days that you couldn't do even ten years ago. So you've got DIY bands that are able to go in there and record, make their own music, you know, put out EPs and things like that. But on the other hand, ⁓ well you can do that. Okay, well then you're gonna also do this, which is marketing themselves. And again, back in the day, if you got signed to a label, they did all that for you. Mm-hmm. But now since it's DIY, it's like, you know, the industry saying, ⁓ DIY? Okay, well you can DIY every fucking
speaker-0: Yeah, you could do all of it, sucker. Yeah. How do you feel about that? Yeah, you're the promo guy now. How do you feel? I feel like shit. Yeah. So I can keep cutting friggin' sounds to
speaker-1: I went into this for music, but I didn't realize I was gonna have to be a marketer and you know all that. So Yep.
speaker-0: Well Rissanne, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you so much.
speaker-1: Much for coming on here. And we're gonna have you on too. We're gonna do an episode with you coming up soon. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's gonna be so cool. Thank you.
speaker-0: Hell yeah. All right folks. I'm sticking with you. Rassanne's gotta take off. Thank you so much, rasan.
speaker-1: Peace out, mothership. Love you fuckers. Yeah, I love you.

Come and see them play here at the mothership. I'm gonna be with the great tape cassettes. It's going to be an awesome show. we're gonna play a little bit of chameleon air heart for you now. Chameleon Earhart. Nice and chill song for ya.
speaker-1: Yeah
speaker-0: Yeah, let's roll it.
speaker-1: Is for you to be Yeah. Yeah. See
speaker-0: it fits in right with ⁓ magnavoxes and their sound it's very very psychedelic rock very chill very just moody and sweet i love that love it well folks it's about that time ⁓ so rissan is guest number one all right we're gonna be having a lot of guests over well hopefully years You know, we're gonna keep this thing rolling for as long as it possibly can. ⁓ next guest we got lined up is Chris Case. Chris Case, the local veteran of the cover band scene, started Kobalt Creek back in the day with a bunch of other boys. ⁓ shout out to my buddy John Smith, who's leading cobalt right now, or as we like to call it, Carbon Cliff. And ⁓ Good men in that band and playing lots of great music. It's always a party. It's always a good time with the Creek. So go check them out and ⁓ you know, show Chris some love when he comes here next week. It's gonna be a good show. I absolutely love this dude. I think he is hilarious. He's got a great heart and ⁓ used to work for him back in the day. So lots of good times to be had, folks, coming up here at the mothership, here at WMSR Mothership Radio. WMSR Mothership and Radio Mancefield right here in the heart of Ohio where it really is. All about the music. Yes, you know it. You love it. I'm here for you folks. Gonna be here for you for a very long time. And we also got some very special news today. Happy birthday to Jeff Ullery. Happy birthday, Jeff. The big man, the man who made it all happen and is carrying this business through into the future. Thank you for everything, Jeff. And happy anniversary to you and your lovely wife, Vicky. Thank you so much, Jeff. Happy birthday to you, my friend. And ⁓ also great news, we got some footage. From Spin Magazine is a compilation video that they made from the Inked and Amp show back in July and featuring a lot of our friends, a lot of the bands that came in here, a lot of awesome bands. they got good footage and they got their faces on Spin Magazine. The the page, the everything. They were all over Spin. It's so cool. That's so wicked cool. And ⁓ just happy to see that. So much fruit has been born from that. And that just makes me so happy to see. And ⁓ so I think we're gonna cap this sucker off with something very, very special. ⁓ I think we're gonna play the new impatient single. How what do you think what do you b what do you think? You wanna you wanna hear it?
speaker-1: Yeah
